I was asked by the team at Steelcase to lead and design an experimental interaction design lab at Steelcase. This was the first of it’s kind at Steelcase.
My responsibilities were to design and code robots and other interactive devices that would inspire designers to think differently about products and space. Some responsibilities were leading the team in understanding how experimental interaction can change the way you think about products, presenting projects to the team that would be shared with entire departments of Steelcase. I made it a goal to design experiences that were unique by using existing or cutting edge robotics materials at the time like shape memory alloy to inspire change.
